auto has 6 multi clutch packs in it ,to see if a clutch is an issue drain some oil out if its blackish and smells burnt you have 1 or more burnt clutch packs

Sounds like the box is low on oil, it holds around 9 litres, may need a top up.

+1 on the oil being low. I had the same problem before I sorted all my leaks. Now the leaks are fixed and the oil is at the correct level the problem has gone away.

Fingers crossed this is my experience too. I got the same when I put my foot down, a jigging and losing revs. Having it diagnosed on Wendesday morning, fingers crossed :S

Check the Turbo Modulator first.... +1 [emoji651] on over boost symptoms....
Its the small square unit hidden behind the MAF.
Check all the small pipes **carefully** for splits etc.
Check the turbo mod actuator rod is free to move ( they are stiff by nature, and require some force) lightly oil and work back and forth.
This is a great source and reference for all... (Haynes could learn a thing or two..)

Could be alot cheaper than leaping in with the gearbox.
