Hi everyone! Yes, another tailgate window problem!

i have a 2002 TD4 ES.

Driving yesterday, lowered window ok, was trying to get in desired position, then it started moving really slowly, got it closed, but outside of it's recess in the car body.
I can open the tailgate.
the console switch makes the four beeps sound
disconnecting the battery to force recalibration doesn't work (the window doesn't move at all)
When pressing up on the console switch it sounds like the motor engages.
I've unsuccessfully tried to access the system check mode.

before I start taking the tailgate apart does anyone have any other suggestions, please?

thanks guys

Well I'll answer my own post then! One of the wires snapped in the tailgate window mechanism. I decided to replace the whole thing, not just the wires. First because it seems people have experienced problems with replacing the wires and second, others have also noticed the motor was slow/rough after replacing the wires.

lack of replies was probably due to this question being asked loads of times, those that have answers can only reply to post's so many times before getting fed up, always use the search function for answers
