Coul Any One Tell Me What Sort Of Mpg Should You Get From My Td4 Freelander. I Am Getting Around 32mpg Around Town And About The Same On The Motorway When Doing About 70mph Is This About Average.i Have Only Had It For About 5 Week But It,s My Pride And Joy Sad Really.also Could Anyone Tell Me If They Have Heard Of Doug Dransfield And What Is He Like For Servicing Land Rovers

32 is OK around town. We have sometimes got in excess of 40 mpg on long steady runs, but mid to late 30's is what we consistantly get.

Check your tyre condition, pressures and give the old girl a bit of TLC and see what you return then.

cheers pal got about 28 in front tyres is that about right and i am going to have it serviced next week by doug dransfeild as i think looking at the service book it was last september since it last had one:)
 
We run our standard tyres at 32psi. This is 2psi higher than the recommended 30psi.

(At some point LR changed their recomendation from 30 to 28, I think it was to try to address the uneven tyre wear on early models, but IIRC that turned out to be due to VCU/IRD problems.)

We have no sign of tyre wear characteristic of overinflated tyres at 32psi. Perhaps trying them slightly firmer might improve motorway effeciency. What do other people think?
