hi all,
I cold started my 2003 freelander the other day with no problems, new glow plugs and battery other week.
went to excellerate and it started to stutter and lose power, engine warning light on almost in limp mode. drove it for 30 mins then all was ok. used it several hours later same problem. cold started it the next day even worse. stationary out of gear revs to 3000 then stutters and drops to 2000. mechanic has run diagnostic check on it and has come back all clear.
I had the external fuel pump replaced 2 years ago, could it be the same thing again.

Did the mechanic use a LR specific diagnostic reader on it? I would have thought there would be a code if the engine light had come on.

yes it could be your fuel pump did you buy the cheaper one because if you did they and not that good

Filter last changed ?

would change the fuel filter first
