Hi, hope someone can offer some advice. The metal mounting bracket which holds the EGR solenoid to the side of the block has cracked and broken, I assume the engine vibrations have caused a stress failure.
I can buy a new bracket but can only find a genuine one, in the UK and by the time I pay postage and import duties etc. it's not cheap.
I can try have the bracket welded but all the welders I know locally only arc weld which I don't think would work on such thin steel.
I fitted an EGR delete a number of years ago so the solenoid is redundant but I assume if I remove it, it will cause an error code and illuminate the engine warning light. Is that correct?
Thanks in advance.

Assuming you have a 2004 TD4

EGR solenoid ?

Didn't think it had one just a vacuum operated valve.

There is no warning light.....unless I am much mistaken ( wouldn't be the first time..:( )

Except for if am totally wrong that part YQU104740L costs like 24£ incl. VAT on Britpart, can't tell about quality, plus shipping shows up as my estimate to Spain with 12.20£. It should be free of import VAT up to 135€ since Brexit, but don't nail me on it.
