hi my 53 reg freelander pump situated under osr wheel arch is humming all the time ,when ignition is on and when travelling ,can anyone help with a diagnostic

Why? It's supposed to hum, but shouldn't be overly loud. If it is then the diagnostic would have to be it's on its way out & should be replaced before it fails completely.

Also. . . . . .the front pump might have gone weak putting more work to the rear one . . . . .just a thought

Or the cradle it sits in hasnt been fitted properly
