What do you folk think of the auto model, how trouble some are they? Any common faults I should be aware of, although it's academic now cos I've just gone and bought the dam thing

Hi there mhaze, I also have the td4 auto and love it. Had a few problems with it but nothing that wasnt an easy fix.

What year is it. We had a few problems with the earlier ones, pre about 03, which we believe were down to wading regularly through water deeper than the recommended wading depth.
Mine's an 04, been in deep water, but not often, gearbox fine at 80,000 miles.
A good choice, they are far nicer than the manual, especially off road. Keep an eye on this site, they are not all as reliable as they should be, and there is some good advice here, but don't get paranoid, there are plenty of good ones about.

ITS A 03 . . . .i hammer it orft road i put a snorkle on gearbox breather ages ago ,never had a problem, the only thing that is a problem is the stupid rear exhaust bit ,mines dented too bits ,mite mod it soon
