Ok, have a 110 with TD5. Very noticeable vibration, could be misfire, could be something else. It is there on start up and throughout the rev range, on idling or under load. Was recently in for MOT so asked indy for opinion, they reckoned it was crankshaft damper. However, have removed auxiliary belt to disprove any bearing problems on Alternator, water pump or idler pulleys. No difference.
They also said no sign of misfire on their diagnostic kit. I have replaced injector harness, checked for oil in red plug - all clear.Fuel pump priming OK, not whining, still goes like a train up tp 70 +
The only thing that does stop the misfire is when I run it with no coolant. (Short spells!) As soon as I fill with coolant the vibration/shudder/misfire starts again. After leaving for a few days, with coolant in, harder to start than usual and a fair amount of white smoke.
I have one final thought left, but do not want to pre-empt any suggestions anybody else might have?
PS Disconnecting gearbox and lay shaft etc by holding clutch in makes no difference.
