I'm selling my 88" series 3 chassis now, its in good condition just missing engine mounts

Comes with Vin plate obviously and is ideal for use on a rebuild, only reason for sale is I'm buying a 109 chassis

The way this works is your vehicle takes this ones identity using this chassis or a replacement Richards etc one not slapping the Vin on a 90 and making a tax exempt V5 90 hybrid piece of ****.

Will not entertain any posts/pm's from noobs who have just signed up to try and buy it for ringing something

If it doesn't go for a rebuild I'll eventually use it but would rather not have a chassis round the back of the house when I have a 109 one inbound

I do also have a mint condition series bulkhead that could be available through separate negotiation

Looking for £400 OBO for chassis as is. Non rolling, no springs but the rest is intact and chassis is solid now

And no I will not cut off the chassis leg and vin plate to send by courier, the whole chassis goes for use as is on a rebuild or it doesn't go at all. I will not have this one turned into a ringed 90

Is bulkhead from a S3 also? if from a S2 i might be interested.

Is it me or has the Doc not used his noggin here?

Someone could still buy this and use it to ring a vehicle!?

Too be fair you could do that with a complete vehicle. Buy one legit, strip it, sell all the parts and keep the Logbook & Vin plates then stick em on a stolen LAndy.

With a chassis and paperwork anything is possible, if it gets into the wrong hands a grinder set of stamps and then a trip to the scrappers?
He has done a lot more than most people would though.
I have wondered for a while now as to why tax exempt is so important, its only 3 ish tanks of fuel in money terms, is that really worth the obvious trouble it causes when you get caught?
On the other side, if someone is wanting to change the id. the pre 1960 would be preferred as it is both tax free and mot exempt.

Tax exempt makes no odds to me I don't think saving 200 quid a year is worth any effort but maybe there's more to it!

Yeah but a lot of landies don't cost £400. and have all the bits stripped off already. :(

Im with you gents, i can't see the point for a hundred odd quid a year.

Guy at work traded in a paid for nothing wrong with it 5 year old golf petrol for a diesel so it had free road tax

He said it's great, 60mpg and no tax

Of course he's completely ignoring the £250 a month rental and the fact he'll never own it

He only does 5000 miles a year so even the difference in mpg isn't much of a saving

There's plenty sucked in by free road tax

My Impreza is £475 a year and worth every penny :D

It's a sad state of affairs when you have to be careful who you sell a perfectly legitimate useable part to.
