Morning guys,
I've just had the water pump, radiator, viscous clutch fan replaced and ever since then I've had a loud tapping noise ( searched forums but so many different answers ive not got a clue). The noise gets faster with acceleration disappears when coasting but starts again when breaking. I've tried changing oil but no effect. It's driving great.
Any ideas guys would be really appreciated
:(

Is the fan touching the cowl? I guess you will just have to work through the answers you have, starting with the easiest, till you find your problem. From your post I take it someone else changed your parts, the best answer is take it back to them.:)

Had a noise like that on the Transit after I changed the idler pulley's, a new belt fixed it, don't ask me why that should be but it was the last resort.

You can get tapping if the belt sheds a strand and it is wiping around hitting something. But it would be pretty obvious when the belt was inspected.

Belt looks fine, it's in the spares kit.

Enigmatic then, have had several occasions of a loose strand thrashing about causing a tapping noise. But as i said pretty obvious on inspection. Can't see how a good belt would cause a tap.

hi I changed my water pump had the same tapping when I looked at the new pump there was play in the bearings which was allowing the fan the wobble and catch a hose clip check the fan isn't hitting anything.
