now the preload is set up..new cam smoothered in cam lube..i dont want to strip top end again to individually soak each tappet in oil and place in block..
will not do the lot at once cos that defeats the point of setting up the preload..
also engine wont be used for awhile at best

willl it matter??ie tappets being dry at start up..i say will not apart from being noisey at start up and maybe lack of power till primed
 
I got loads of oil from an oil can round the tops of the tapets as it will take a while from the pump, the tapers themselves fill with oil guite quickly
 
Mine rattled for a while as the pump took a long time to prime, despite having been primed and the oil filter pre-filled.

It is worse on the serpentine belt engines with the concentric pump than the early lumps with the gear pump.

yep..no way of using drill..but i have prepacked pump with vasoline...so hopefully............................
