When I bought mine, I think it was already assembled. Bloody thing was useless though. When the tank is full it reads half full then goes up as fuel is used until about 3/4 then goes down again. I now have no idea how much fuel is in the tank.

The white float goes into the 1 looped wire.
This is then attached to the wire off the sender & secured by then 2 little circular pinch clamps.

now before you clamp this, you must work out the full/empty position of the float before securing solid.
Them clamps are also crap… I used a large choc block( remove plastic cover) as these have screws & you can adjust

Thanks, how do I find the full , empty position ?

It’s more luck….
Measure height internally of tank.
Measure height of pick up from the bottom of the tank.
Now the empty should be higher than the pick up height. Allow 2” extra so hopefully you won’t run dry.

full tank should be the height of the tank(same again minus a bit off this so the tank does not spill round corners)

test the measurements with some extra long cables to the gauge.

Thanks So when putting sender down in to tank have that float at the empty point about 2 inch above bottom of pick up pipe ?

Mine hasnt worked since 1989. Tried a britpart one and it only registered full then went to zero. Hoofed it in the bin and carry a jerry can. Sorted.

Got it in but not sure if it will work but time will tell when I get things connected up.
Really need to get started on wiring the whole rebuild now.
Thanks everyone for help.
