Does anyone know, one of my tyres is slightly dodgy can i put the spare on to give me four good ones and go to test without a spare ?? if questioned can i swear blind i don't use them and take a can of reinflate muck with me.??

If you spare is visible when you are on the road and its too worn you can be done for it too by the old bill.

dont need a spare ... but if its there it will be tested so make sure it aint there
Yes it WILL fail an mot without a spare wheel and it will fail if you dont have a jack too! but it all depends on how stringent yer mot man is at t'end eh day

FosterSpanner123Does anyone know one of my tyres
No sorry i dont know any of em!

ffs.

Mines passed withoot a spare wheel and no jack.
So, would the new Mini's or some beemers fail a mot cos they don't have spare wheels?

This inspection applies to
Tyres fitted to the road wheels only. The vehicle presenter should be informed when it is noticed that there is a defective tyre on a spare wheel. . Type of Structure
On all the tyres fitted, check the
1. Nominal size and aspect ratio.
Note: It cannot be assumed that there is a difference in the nominal sizes of tyres because either twin wheel is not in contact with the ground.
Note: A Class III or IV vehicle tyre which appears to be of inadequate size, ply or speed rating for the vehicle or its use is not a reason for rejection. However, the vehicle presenter should be informed. 1a. One tyre is of a different nominal size or aspect ratio to any other on the same axle.
b. Special lightweight or space saving wheels and tyres fitted as road wheels
Note: Tyres with aspect ratios of 80% and 82% are almost indentical in size and can be safely mixed in any configuration on a vehicle. Where this is done, Reason for Rejection 1 does not apply.
In all other cases of mixed aspect ratios on the same axle, rejection is justified.

just had a look at the above link..
Note: The condition of the spare wheel is not included in the inspection. However, if a defect is seen, inform the vehicle presenter.

MMm maybe if you have a spare you must have a jack?

I wouldn't fancy gettin a flat ont m-way or anywhere for that matter and plod rollin up and you got no spare.. So what happens when you get a flat in a new BMW then?
