i want to go to morocco next year but some people say i cant take a demobbed landy, or i need a export licence, or paint it white, or its fine as it is dont worry? anybody here with any experience with this?
I did here something about this on EMLRA. Its not the fact your going to Morocco, its leaving the UK. I think it was a proposal but im not sure if it went ahead or not. Cant remember the details now either.
Worth getting on the EMLRA forum and searching/asking. Those guys are super helpfull and prett quick at answering.
Mine is an ex mod, and it went to Morocco with no problems/export permits etc. I did however paint it black, because I didn't like the idea of travelling in a vehicle that could be mistaken for a mil vehicle. It probably would have been fine, but there are military checkpoints in the desert, and if the guards are a bit stoned and see what they may think is an Algerian army vehicle approaching, you could get some extra ventillation holes in your landy
Yep white is definately the most sensible colour for an expedition Land Rover... Everybody said I should do mine white, which is exactly why I did it black..

I have a 1990 ex military 110 200tdi painted in the standard Military green. The guy who I bought it from used to go to Morocco in it every winter for about 7 years on the trot with out any problems. That would be about six years ago when he last went. Don't know if it has changed since then?
done the form thing, what a joke! i will paint it white or sand as it does need a paint job, the old yard brush paint job is a lot flakey, dont think i want to go for black paint booger!!
