Hi all,
My softclose has been a bit one and off for a while but a month ago it stopped working completely and so the dashboard says the boots open and my neighbours are hacked off because the horn sounds when I lock the car.
I'm hoping it's a fuse but cannot find anywhere that will tell me where the fuse for this is?
I have checked the slidy part of the lock bracket is free and it was a bit stiff, so I've lubricated, but in fairness it's still stiff, so I guess that's what it's like.
Does anyone know what 'triggers' the action to pull the boot in, again I can't find that information anywhere?
Many thanks,
Kevin

Most likely a micro switch in the boot lock mechanism. It could be time for a new unito_O

It's not a fuse. I expect the microswitch in the lock assembly that tells the CJB that the tail door is closed has failed, so the CJB is seeing the tail door as open instead. This is why it sounds the horn when locking it, as its warning that something isn't closed.

Does the boot light stay on, and do you get a message on the LCD telling you the tail door is open?
The bonnet closed sensor can also cause this issue, but it doesn't put the boot light on, just sounds the horn on locking.
