After all the rain we have had recently I was shocked to find a bit of a swimming pool in my boot.
People seem to almost universally point to the upper tailgate rubber seal.
Looked on Rimmer Bros. and the darned thing is nearly £150.

I am gob-smacked.
However.... before I go and spend such a ridiculous amount of money I think I shall sit inside the vehicle while someone plays a hose set on "rain-water" setting all over the rear of the vehicle and see if I can spot the method by which the water is getting in there.
Alternatively, I might be tempted to drill a blooming hole in the lowest point in the wheel-well that I can find and let gravity sort it out for me.
What's the usual MO approach out there?

Best drill the 'ole

Thats what i would do... :D

Ain't no one paying 150 squids for a piece of rubber.. ;)

Is this any use? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Range-Ro...171267047409?_trksid=p2385738.m4383.l4275.c10

Thanks @gold rover , It doesn't look at all like the part that's in there, but you never know. ;-)
Good to know there are samples out there. Will sit in the car while SWMBO uses the hose on it to see if its really the rubber first.
No worries. There were quite a few others, including this one from Rimmers https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-ALR6...MI9fiLxp_C2gIVQirTCh0X_wSzEAsYASABEgLj7vD_BwE
It's probably not the right thing but like you said, at least you know there are options out there. :)

I seam to recall mention of a service bulletin on leaking tailgates and the fix was to bend the flange the seal fits on so it pushes the seal against the tailgate a bit more, I may well be wrong and it was the later models.

Correct, the flange was bent outwards 5 mm in the area of the bend and either side of were the upper and lower tail gates meet.

Thanks all! Will investigate to find source of leak/ingress and buy the appropriate rubber bits.
I haven't bought rubbers for ages.;)
