I know you'll say its personal choice. And I believe that everyone works with their best intentions to improve their Landy and increase the " livability" of the vehicle on the modern roads. However, I spent a while trying to pick up a unmolested CSW 300tdi Defender.... Believe me..... it took some finding !
Not a piece of checker plate or light bar to be seen. All good for some. But, just not me.
After learning on the job, I'm surprise to find, just how original it really is...all be it a little tired after 25 years.

I have now decided to replace some of the aging components. Retrim the shabby interior and replace the obligatory "saggy" head linings.

Question : Would most of people prefer to see a complete " stock retrim" in Techno on the original drop seats or would it be acceptable to replace them with the higher back Exmoor seats for increased comfort. ( But...will be Techno) Nothing drastic !

Question : Remove the bulkhead and install the later bracing kit to allow for more room within the cabin. Before retrimming with new carpet. It would all be very subtle ……. But, It can only be Factory stock once?

Some will say " Should have brought a later TD5 If you'd wanted a plusher interior " Would be a fair comment too !

It would be nice to have a few of peoples thoughts ? Before I do something, I may regret ?

Hello and welcome:)

Your call your motor but sounds like the upgrades are not irreversible if someone later wanted it stock.

They were all stock in the beggining.

that LR is your LR.

If it makes you happy,
even if the doors are hanging off,
then it’s how it should be :)

Welcome. As above, your car do what you want.
Unless you are doing it up to sell and want to see which would appeal to the greater number. In that case a post in the model forum will bring more of those who know the model best.
