Ok so went to change offside swivel joint large scraper seal and he whole hub moved when undoing track rod end, suspect upper pin bearing gone for a ****. real excessive play and slight change in camber when the wheel was fitted. Without having dismantled fully I suspect the bearing race for the pin will have worn in the swivel joint and the whole affair will need replacement.
Can anyone recommend the source of a good replacement kit, should I stick with OEM material or buy pattern. A bit disappointed that Land Rover don't sell a kit with everything you need like Britart do?

Their have been problems reported here and elsewhere with pattern housings cracking and breaking up.

Genuine are horribly expensive but if it's an option I'd go with oem

Rimmer bros do them I think but I can't vouch for their service personally not having used them

Unless you've run it for a long time with the bearing collapsed you might of got away with it . the outer bearing race is made of hard gear . I've used britpart kits in the past on my own truck and 2 of my mates and not had any trouble with em but britpart seems to be a lottery

I ordered my own parts, can probably find you a list if you want. The best way is to look at the list of parts in the kits on ebay and then order it yourself in OEM stuff, that's what I did.

LRDirect.com seem to be the best price for parts like this.

I usually order "critical" bits like this from Famous Four. not the cheapest, but I haven't had any problems so far.

On the plus side, both mine were well worn, with plenty of play, but replacing the bottom bearings and top pins sorted it. The swivel bearing faces were fine. Fingers crossed you find the same.

Definitely get OEM. I've seen some scary photos of cheaper swivels breaking in half. I've heard that a lot of people will try and get a very good condition pair off a scrap fender if they can, seems to be a safe option if you're strapped for cash.

Don't recall the oem ones i got off LRDirect being horrendously expensive - was 3 years back so would have to check

Thanks everyone for the steer (no pun intended!). The swivel is pitted with corrosion as well so decided to change the whole thing and go with OEM assuming LRdirect is OEM?

They say if they are OEM next to them, you can choose.

From memory the cheapest one I saw was the Britpart OEM one for £65ish.
