I understand it is a good idea to replace the EP 90 Oil in the Swivel Housing with "One Shot Grease". I am sure this has been discussed before but this will be my first venture on my newly acquired 1994 Tdi 300. The grease appears to be sold in individual sachets. Can any one tell me how I go about this job please.

on the swivel housing u should find two plugs, one on top, and one below. remove the top plug, clean around, etc, remove bottom plug and alow any oil to flow out, leave for 15mins if u want. once u've done this then take your packet of greese and squeeze it in thru top plug hole. dont worry if greese doesnt appear at bottom plug. as long as u have got the whole packet in there then its fine. heat with use will thinen grease and throw it in nocks and cranies. once satisfied then replace plugs, make sure all areas around plugs are clean as possible before refitting etc. if u've had problems with oil leaks on swivel as i did then new seals may be advised, but the one shot is much better than the oil they were built with. get urself a haynes manual. sound investment, i always got mine with me.
hope this helps

while yer draining yer swivel bung yer one shot in hot water to make it come out the packet easier

go for a quick drive about 1st to heat up the oil in your swivels. they will drain quicker = less time standing about drinking tea ;) if you get the britpart bottles of grease its worth finding a length of suitable hose to stick on the end. that way you can get it right in there! ;)

If you can get the britpart bottles, they come with nozzles on them that can have a piece of tube shoved over, then you can get a good way into the housing.

Anyhow you can buy CV joint grease from automotive type shops by the tubfull. Dunno how much it costs but I'd bet a pound to a pinch of ****e it's cheaper than the stuff in tubes. And if you go down to the local playground you'll find a syringe, Chuck the hypodermic bit in the sandpit, bung a piece of tube on the end and use this to inject the grease into the swivels
