Swivel Balls

Here's how ah did it:D
First ah slackened the wheel nuts and drive flange nuts. Jacked the bus up and then removed the wheel, took dust cap off and removed the drive flange.
Next ah took the brake calliper off and sat it to one side...

Next thing ah did was to remove the rods, first the back one..

then the front one..

(if ye don't have a ball joint splitter, ye could try a couple of chaps with a claw hammer to the swivel housing arms around where the ball joint goes in;) )

Next thing was to remove the big nuts using a proper box spanner (not a chisel or screwdriver!!)

Firstly bend back the lockin' washer, then undo the first nut. Take off the lockin' washer and undo second nut...

Ye'll find another washer, take it off and then remove the hub and disc assembly. Be carefull of the inner bearin' race!! Ye should then see this (with all the bolts in place!!) ...

When ye undo the bolts, ye'll find it's just a plate. Remove it and the stub axle to find this..

Remove the 1/2 shaft carefully and sit to one side

Undo the bottom swivel pin ...

Don't take the pin out just yet!!
Remove the back plate(s) that hold the big swivel ball oil seal....

Then take out the pins..

Pull the swivel housin' off to reveal the ball...

Take off the ball to reveal this...

Clean off the old gaskets, tap the holes to clean them out and refittin' is pretty much the reverse;) :D
Don't forget tae use loctite 270 (or similar) when puttin' the bolts back in (check manual for which bolts and for torque settin's;) )
Oh, and remember which way the big seal on the swivel ball goes on:D
