I have been told that the only way to switch an instrument cluster from a kmh to mph version is that it must be done by LR themselves, as these are coded to the car? and that the whole exercise is rather expensive.

can anyone shed some light on this, if you will pardon the pun?

What car? On a P38 you can swap but the mileage will to whichever is the higher figure of the on on the cluster or the figure in the BECM, Km or miles can be selected in the BECM.

sorry - it is an 06 RR sports. was imported from Aus (kmh cluster), apparently attempted rego in UK (fitted the mph cluster), but fails Euro Emissions 4 laws and is being offered for export. I need the kmh cluster refitted, and am told that this must be done by LR themselves. Apparently it is an entire cluster that only LR can fit and remove?
