Can someone tell me where the springs fit on the front of a SWB Series 3?
My Landy had new wheel cylinders and shoes when I bought it however the adjusters weee seized. So today I thought I would start renewing them. Anyway there was 3 springs on there when I removed them but I managed to lose one when refitting them. So I looked them up and it looks as though there should only be 2 springs and not 3.
Does someone have a picture of where the springs go?
Hen I removed them there was a top and bottom spring holding the shoes together and a 3rd spring at the top hooked onto the fixed post and onto the post on the back of the shoe.
They are 10” brakes leading/trailing so only one wheel cylinder.

Thanks.

Norrie.

not my pic, black spring goes between the shoes at the bottom

red spring goes from that pin on the leading shoe - that the snail cam acts upon - to a pin on the backing plate

so the top spring between the shoes you had is the one that is not needed

Cool thanks for that.
That's a bonus then. If I hadn't had lost that spring I would never know that it was wrong. The manual just states remember where the old springs went. lol.
