Hi Guy's
Does anyone know what tires were fitted to a SWB 2a originally?
What is a good modern equivalent?
Where can you get them and how much to pay for them.
Do i need inner tubes?
Can i fit wheels and tyres from a Series 3 LWB (My mate has a spare set)?

The old girl will be spending 98% of her time on road so I don't need off road tires.
Currently she has BF Goodrich 205/R16 on her but the side wall's are cracking and i need to get new ones before the MOT.

they originally had 600 x 16 xply tyres(they never had tires fitted) a modern equivelent is a 205x16 , you an fit 109 rims on them but they are wider. 109's had 7.50x16 fitted as standard.

They might have had tires fitted over the pond but not when they left Solihull.


If you are thinking of fitting 109 (LWB) wheels and tyres watch out that they don't rub on the body / suspension when on full lock.
You may need to adjust the steering end stop's.
