As it says ive a fault with the air suspension on my 02' td6 l322, ive had it nearly 3 months so I suppose its due!
Ive done a bit a searching and cant find any one thats had a similar fault.
It occurred while i was loading a machine onto a trailer behind it as ive done many times since ive had it, as im loading the machine it lifts the back of the range rover up ( not off the ground though) and when the machine is on the trailer it will compress the back of the range rover down for 20-30 seconds as i position it on the trailer...but this time the back of the range rover didnt come back up!
the front it stuck at normal height
first thought was a blew a air bag but the compressor wasnt coming on.
Its displaying SELF LEVEL INACT on the dash, ive tryed locking the steering left to right and turning it off and back to reset it, no joy.
first checked the fuses in the boot and the 20amp one on the far left thats says its for air suspension was blown..replaced fuse no joy.
The compressor still isn't coming on, anyone any further ideas?

Next time put the legs down on the back of the trailer to prevent it lifting the car, if your trailer has lost it's legs use a jack or a block of wood because, as you have just found out, what you are doing can be destructive.

legs were down, if not the rear of the jeep would be 2feet off the ground, this however cant cause a problem because its no different to being jacked up.
the problem was caused by the air suspenion trying to self level the car while it was over loaded...if i would have put the jockey wheel down to stop this...or turned the car off it wouldnt have happened...but then again if your auntie had ball she would be your uncle!

checked a few things out today and cant find any think wrong underneath...but the air compressor still doesn't work...and that 20amp fuse i replaced was just for the cigarette lighter..the 50amp in the boot and no57 in the glove box for the air suspension or both fine.

so my question is has anyone ever overloaded the rear air suspension like this and it failed to self level...what does it damage?

You will need to get the fault codes read, it may just need the faults clearing and the suspension unlocked.
