I have a 2004td5 and am cosidering having ecu upgrade by superchip have any members had this done i tow a caravan would like feedback mpg any long term problems etc
thank you
Did It on a 1999 TD5 ES. Also fitted bigger intercooler too. About 185bhp and 80ft lb more torque. Pulled a 14" trailer full of stone, must have weighed 3.5 tonnes, no problem.
goes like stink, doesn't slow down for hills, better economy when towing as it doesn't struggle, hurts about 1 mpg normal driving but worth it for the V8 performance.
my warranty ends in a week, so seriously thinking about a ECU upgrade,
i ve read previous topics on ECU upgrades/chips and to be honest its confusing as to which is the best way to go,
has anyone taken the catalytic converter out of the exhaust system? can this be done to the standard steel exhaust?
can a bypass pipe be bought anywhere or would one have to be specially made? don't want to go for a stainless exhaust yet while the original is still serviceable,
try blue flame exhausts near liverpool for a by pass pipe or replacment pipe to get round the cat, if they aint made one before you get yours cheap and its stainless steel.
