hi guys..

finally got round looking at the sunroof on my 1998 1.8 5 door... since i bought it the glass has been stuck up on tilt on the drivers side.

the motor is spinning around and making the right actions but it has no effect or movement of the glass and its tracks.

managed to get the glass out and i can see that the track and other little pieces are totally split on the drivers side, even with it all apart the motor does not spin the cogs in the tracks etc

i have forced and slid it all back down flat and re-fitted the glass

i want the sunroof operational again, do i need to buy a new sunroof assembly that bolts up into the roof or is there a cheap fix you guys know about??

thanks for any help

you could try this item on flea bay- will be getting one myself soon as I have the same problem. Have checked out the sellar and all appears good

You can buy the runners individually.

Remove the motor , remove the glass , remove the T20's, pull the runner out with cable. Refit, bolt down.

Test it with glass removed to check the sync is correct and your on the correct place on the motor.

Drink beer!

There is a piece of cylindrical plastic with a slot in it at the centre of the motor assembly. You can see it when you remove the overhead light assembly. Place a large screwdriver blade in the slot and push making sure it is recessed. Mine has dropped twice and disengaged the cog so the motor doesnt drive the window.

Mine opens fine it lifts up then slides back as it should but when I press to close it does nothing.
Whats going on with this then?

Not trying to :hijacked: but while we're talking sunroofs.

Ah Ha so this is not supposed to be raised above the level of the hole then?
I'll try that tomorrow, many thanks Skynet.
