I took both my sunroofs out after owning my disco td5 for only 1 month, I would say it is best to take out the headlining completely, remove the sunroofs and give them a good clean, check the pipes are not blocked and re-glue the plastic to metal parts where the drain pipes connect. When refitting, clean up the roof and use and non setting sealant to seal between the sunroof and roof.
I done this in October and had no problems since, it was pi**ing in beforehand.
All this can be done in a (dry) day.
