hello i think i have found the problem of my sun roof leak the seal that goes between the glass and the sunroof does not sit in the gully properly it keeps popping off at the sides has any one had this problem before do you need to stick it down or should it just push in

Its meant to push down and remain in place - clean out the track in the sunroof for the seal and try reseating it . However if its not staying in place , for example with the sunroof open, then I have read in a few places that the seal was 'stuck' down - and problem solved .
Unfortunately you may find that you still have a leak -as this may not be causing the leak .If the seal has gone hard or become deformed new seals are often available on ebay .
The join between sunroof frame and vehicle roof is often the source of leaks - a bead of black silicone around the join (having dried it out/cleaned it ) can often stop a leak at this point .

also check roof bar mount holes, mine was leaking through the foam pads under roofbars and running across towards the alpines
