i have a 1996 with a diversity radio , and a sub in the back , looks just like this one

it is working , but is very quiet . you cant tell if its working in the front , even if i play with the sub control on the radio . but today i put myself in the trunk , and i unplugged the lead but it made no difference .

(that may seem strange , but this car seems to have a habit of fixing itself if i poke around a little)

any ideas ?

i take it this is a harmon-kardon sub ???

My sub was also hardly noticeable. I replaced the headunit, and it was a hugh difference. Not only the sub, but also the other speakers got a new life. Much clearer sound picture and better definition and with most new headunityou can control how much boost the sub gets . I also got bluetoothe handsfree with the new Blaupunkt MP68 headunit.

I made the adapter myself, from a wiring diagram from the rangerovers.net forum. Read this thread and you will find all the info you need.

you can control the sub with the diversity .... its just thast nothing happens !!!

i have some high-end gear left over from other projects (i'm into car hifi) but dont really want to do it to this car .

anyone feel like making upp these looms and selling them ?

would love to get a loom that would allow me to replace factory for an MP3 supporting headunit, but allowing me to keep the Harmon Kardon system

You can buy them from nexxia.co.uk, but I am not sure if they are the same, there was some discussions on the rangerovers.net forum that people had problems with them. If you have done a mininum of soldering and follow the instructions carefully you will be able to make your own in less than an hour. The downloadable excel sheet in the thread I have linked to above, gives all info you need and can be adapted to almost any headunit brand. The parts where about £10.

just had a look on ebay , somebody is selling amps from the doors of p38s .
