Hi, I have series 2a 88" petrol and have been having problems with the fuel guage. There is 3/4 of fuel in the tank and the guage is reading quarter of a tank. any ideas?

Where the hell is the voltage stabiliser? I have checked the sender unit and the piece of metal that is attached to the float is toching the copper coily thingy (being thick today), thanks

It's a 'box' about 2-2 1/2 cms long, screwed to the back of the speedo on a III, prob' thee same onna II. You can replace it with a solid state one, got mine off Fleabay fer about £7.

I'll try again

second picture, little black box on the right hand side up against the edge, its got a blue wire and a green/black wire comin from it both with red connectors

ffs yer must have girly thin hands ter lean in there to switch it on, well if that aint it then it aint in there, follow the wire from yer fuel gauge and see what its connected to

One wire goes to the fuel sender unit and two more wires coming off the same point go to the fuse box. On the other side of the fuse box that wire goes to the ignition switch

looks like yer aint got one, yer might have fukt the gauge as they is temperamental instruments hence the fitting of a stabiliser, i would get a stab and if it doesnt work you will know the gauge is shagged

So these voltage regerlators that are so easy to make fer pennies then Daft...........how many have you made so fer?
