Hi,
Me and my 12 year old son had our first pay & play day today at Briercliffe near Burnley. We've had our 110 hard top for a week so decided it was time to see what all the 4x4 fuss was about.

Quite simply, we were stunned at what a couple of beginners like us could drive it up, across and down! We were giggling like a couple of kids at one point and got a little braver with some of the climbs and descents.

Diff lock + Low box = Amazing!
We didn't break anything either, which was a bonus :)

good to hear that :) I find the LR transfer box unbeatable, it offers a lot of torque and a very slow speed so gives you time to react. unlike some other 4x4s ive drove off road.
I went out on sunday for the 2nd pay and play ive done in my discovery and it is amazing to look up a steep hill and think, wow ive just drove down that... or up it :)

with a decent set of tyres and a bit of underbody protection for your landy you can just about get anywhere with only cosmetic damage (scatches and scrapes)

its great to get the little ones involved too, did he have a drive?

Not sure who's running it but I paid a fella who came out of the unit on the left as you drive up, great fun for a couple of hours...

Landys are fun aren't they, amazing what stock ones can do! :D

Incidentally how much did you pay please?

I remember driving my old mans 109 in a feild before having a license
Its a good way to learn clutch control ect so when driving lessons come around the basics are already there

Learnt on some wasteland as a kid too, better than poncing about on Xbox thats for sure!
Nice vids! glad you both had fun :)
