Ayup,
Got in my petrol series3 today for the first time in about 9 months, the engine started first time but i can't push the clutch pedal down at all.
What's the most likely reason for this do you reck'?

i can't push the clutch pedal down at all.

i cant get mine to come back up!! :D goes down and stays down!! :(

i've not looked into it propperly yet but i've found all the linkages are pretty rusted up (this one's a series 2a) might be a starting point for you!

If the pedal goes down but only comes back up slowly the hose to the slave cyl. may have collapsed inside forming a oneway valve.

Tsv thats a bugger that, I has that on a tranny brake pipe, apllied brakes they worked but one side stuck on, same thing collapesed pipe, after a while it released took fecking ages to find that on.

You might want to try rocking the landy forwards and bacwards whilst putting a bit of pressure on the pedal to see if the clutch will let go, you'll get a good idea if the master cyl is ok but bleeding it first, if the master cylinder pumps brake fluid then its probably ok and a stuck clutch.

Ayup,
Finally got round to looking at it, took the slave off and it was rusted solid. Guess that's the problem, trouble is i need to move the damn thing so am in the process of soaking it in oil. Don't really want to buy a new one just to move it two feet to the left on my drive. Got a new one on the diesel lump that just died, so i will swop it over once the two have swopped places on my drive.
