I'm new to the landy game ive got a 1997 discovery 300 tdi and I'm having trouble when in a rutted field stopped I struggle to get going in both first and second that is just in normal 4 wd on the slightest incline any suggestions seems like lack of bower in those gears thanks

The old girl isn't getting enough power down yes I'm new to it and I then used low box but there is some sort of lack of power in first

does it drive ok on road ? if yes it`s prob not a power prob. with mud you dont need power you need grip and torque and tecneque . power only spins wheels on mud!!!

Yes it drives well on the road the wheels won't spin on the mud I've got good MT coopers on

I wouldn't waste your breath on this one. Everyone has to start somewhere, but this chap is miles from it and heading the wrong way fast.

sound ok . prob just need to get used to way landys deal with diff terains , practice but you will get stuck somtime , thats why most peps go out with others (just in case)

Respectfully disagree. You need to learn how to use your gear box.when off road use low range diff lock all the time.if your nipping across a flat field or track then you can leave it in high. Its never an issue of power unless its struggling on the road. In this case its the fleshy bit behind the wheel letting the disco down.

1st gear low range you will do about 1mph before u have to change gear,u need to really understand how you disco works and when and how to use low/hi

u need to do a lot of searching on ere

Thanks for your info I have started to go out with a group and learning slowly I have changed the fuel filters and this has improved the on road ride 10 fold
