Hi, newbie here with a worrying problem. I have got a 2003 v8 series 2 auto. About 2 weeks ago I noticed a strange vibration under acceleration from about 40mph upwards to 55 ish. It appears to be worse under full(!!) acceleration, and when you back off onto the overrun, it goes smooth. At speeds higher than 55, you can hear the noise rather than feel it. I have tried holding the auto in different gears to see if it is gear specific, but it isn't. It almost feels like the car is going over rumble strips. I have had someone look at the driveshafts, axles and bearings, and all seems ok. I have just put brand new tyres on the back, no difference. New discs on the front, no change, I have new discs for the back, but it feels transmission and not any other part related. Could anyone cast any light on this for me please?. My wife got back from a run yesterday, and told me that whilst accelerating there was a shudder, then lots of squeeling. I have driven the car this morning, and it squeels under acceleration, similar to a fanbelt squeel, engine speed related, but not the fanbelt. Does this ring any bells with anyone?
