I believe I have a 21/4 diesel series 3 landy.

However the exhaust comes off the manifold, horizontally straight out of the engine bay and into the inside of the off side wing, before turning south and rearward. Whats that all about? Never seen that before on a series 3????

This si the best I can do at present as its dark. If this is no help I'll have to take a pic at the weekend in the day light.

seen an old series 2 with a perkins in, exhaust came out the wing like a tractor. was popular mod in the old days!

I know someone who had a V8 Series 2 "Back in the day" and the exhaust pipe came through the foot well and exited along the sill.

Early SIII 2 1/4 diesels (Up to engine suffix B) have an exhaust manifold flange with 4 studs which exits horizontally, while the later ones have 3 studs and exit downwards.
