Repeating myself because i put it in the wrong part of the website.

I have just replaced the clutch and starter motor in 200tdi, 91, discovery.

There are no Electrics from the engine on the ignition.
Lights work, windows work and all electrics outside of the engine work.

The starter will not crank! there are no cold start , oil pressure nor charge lights on the dash when the key is turned. The battery is good.

Could be the immobiliser??

Any Ideas...

Immobiliser still gives you dash lights, so it aint that.

Its something silly left off, a plug or lead that supplies the ignition circuit.
I would start at the MAIN fuses under the bonnet, 30amp i think, for the ignition circuit.

Thanks for the advices.

Headed under the bonnet - checked all earth straps and other wiring. Eventually discovered that there is no power to the ignition wire to the starter. A by-pass gets a result from the starter motor.
but why???

I am thinking relay - but it clicks, which generally means its ok - or back to the immobiliser theory????

Any Other Ideas??

Just becasue a relay clicks doesn't mean it's working - electro-magnet might work but if the relay contacts are black/corroded the connections might not be being made - put a tester on it in/out to be sure.

yes, ill have it for spares.

You can have it - just post a cheque for £2000 and its yours - dodgy electrics thrown in for FREE.

BUT...problem is still unresolved...Relay tested ok.

Alarm/immobiliser appears to be a Getronic model. Is this factory fitted or aftermarket?

Any other suggestions????
