YALSAR Yorks and Lincs Search and Rescue. have had their van broken into and £12,000 worth of search gear, Water rescue equipment, and medical equipment stolen. As well as having their van severely damaged. when the thieves drove it into a Brickwall.

This theft has put the team out of business which means that if they're needed they can't respond. As you can imagine this isn't the sort of gear you'd normally finf for sale on ebay or gumtree. so if anyone see's any fancy gear for sale can they let me know so I can pass the info on.

There some dicks in this world, stealing is one thing, stealing from the an organisation like them is just sick

I hope the aresholes that nicked this trip and fall down a deep hole hanging only by a rope attached to their balls. Unfortunately they wont be able to be rescued because somebody has nicked the rescue kit. Words cannot describe this type of vermin, vile is too good a word.

I really hope the insurance will go someway to restoring the lost items.

They caught the kids who nicked the stuff, the reason they damaged the van is because they cannot drive and selected the wrong gear. They wanted to steal the van but ####ed up. So far they haven't told the Police where the stolen kit is.

Lincolnshire Police offered the team 10x ex-plod Focus' (they normally sell them at auction and get £500 a pop, so the 5 grand was nothing), the team turned down the offer as they have no where to store 10x Focus' before selling them. I was speaking to the team on Saturday when they came into our patch to help us with a fund raising walk. Our team cut them into the proceeds. It'd be rude not to.

They are good lads though, so if you have a spare few quid floating around, kick it their way. Every little helps.
