Newspiece from 10/09/18:
Ram-raiders who pulled a cash machine from a storefront lost their loot after smashing into police vehicles, police have said.
A Land Rover used in the raid at a Co-op Food store in Kessingland, Suffolk, at about 02:30 BST became stuck.
The raiders transferred the cash machine to a Volkswagen Golf, but it fell out after the car went the wrong way into a dead end, turned around and hit two police vehicles.
Police said two men have been arrested.
The force believe five people were involved in the raid.
Despite hitting the police vehicles, the Golf managed to get away and was driving down the A12 in the wrong direction before the occupants abandoned the car.
Police believe the Land Rover used in the raid had been stolen from Gisleham, near Lowestoft.
They are linking the break-in to an attempted theft of another Land Rover in Barley Way, Lowestoft, at about 01:40 BST.
Sister company Co-op East of England has had more than 10 of its stores in Essex and Suffolk targeted by thieves between 2017 and 2018.
Stores targeted have included Debenham, Lavenham and Great Cornard in Suffolk, and Dedham and Brightlingsea in Essex.

I see a defender being used to drive into a coop and rip a machine out a few months ago like 2am...house is dead opposite the shop so see it all..police only took 10min to come.................,.,.............

Any more news on this; these ram-raids are rife? I know of two of those locations that are remote, where the Co-op’s have not reopened but set up temporary stores in barns etc. It just also highlights that the theft of Land Rovers is on the rise for a number of reasons, and greater protection is paramount if we are to keep hold of our landies. I saw another piece of footage recently where a stolen Land Rover was used to thieve farming machinery, makes me sad to see them used in such a way :( Nowhere is safe! My hubby laughs at me when I put the dislok on for a quick ten minute shop or pick up, but I’m feeling close to paranoid that these thieves follow easy targets, and I want to advertise that I use security, visible security, anytime and anywhere! I advise you lot to do the same! This section is full of broken hearted landy owners that have little hope of seeing their pride and joy again.

Does it ram though?!
Thieves could put a rover mini in the back to do the pulling!

This has been found in Eastbourne ... wondering if that’s from the ram raid in Billingshurst

When I lived in MK the local supermarket got ram raided a couple of times so they put a couple of giant plant pots in front. The yobbs then tried to ram raid with the only vehicle that would go through the remaining gap.. An old type mini. .. Shop frontage one mini nil. . The police followed a trail of blood from the remains of the mini...

A 110 was stolen in the Cotswolds on Wednesday night and used in an ATM theft. It was left at the scene by the offenders.
