hi guys. if any one can throw any light on this please been working on it for a bit so will explain whats going on and what ive done. my disco1 1994 3.9v8 is still heavy on fuel and this is what ive changed to improve. new lambas. plugs.leads .lucas distributor and arm. fuel filter airfilter. oil.oil filter. fixed vaccume advanced. checked timmimg.6degrees b4tdc as mine is lpg. tested airflow meter disconnected it and it cut out.so fine. so only other thing i can think of is that fuel temp sensor what fits in the fuel rail.which is currently running at 38c should it be higher. .i have put it on my m8 immisions tester and still a little high. oh also changed thermostate and i can keep the engine most of the time at 1000 rpm as its manual.so not heavy footed. anyone throw any light on it.i know theres a cat resistor but im running the right one.

petrol or lpg figures??
lpg single pooh point or sequential?

single point omvl millenium system. runs grest on lpg and i get between 85miles/95 miles to 30litres just under 19.00 quid. which not bad. but need to get the fuel side better.

engine ecu coolent sensor?
dodgy injector/s?
vac leak on fpr (causing max injector pressure all the time)?

what do the plugs look like? black rich or nice and tanned??

more to the black side. lamba b is comming up rich on my ecu mate both lambas are new. see i wondered if i was to fit a green tune resistor and disconnect the lambas as ive been reading artical on the tune resistor. only thing is i cant find mine. just wondered if it would be better on fuel.

blocked cats??

i would rather find reason than try to bodge..

try coolent sensor etc first...

Agree with zen check coolant sensor or just replace, but don't use inter motor sensor as they is ****

Just pulled the engine and trailer up to Shildon and back, 200 miles each way, 3.5 tonnes, 10.13mpg on LPG, Thor V8, Zavoli multipoint LPG.

In money terms that's equivalent to about 19mpg based on £1.32 a litre.
