i have a range rover 4.4 02 model and i am finding the steering is sticking and not correcting, it happens when i make tiny little adjustments or going round a round about ( seems worse then )

i dont drive the car that quick and it seems to be worse at low speeds but also happens at high speeds

i have put grease on the steering uni joints and also done a power steering fluid change

any ideas ??

thanks in advance

Jack up the front of the car to get both front tyres tyres off the ground and try turning the steering lock to lock, do this with the engine running as it will bleed any air from the PS system, if you find mechanical tightness when carrying this out it may mean that a ball joint has seized, have someone turn the wheel whilst you look and listen at each ball joint to check. Check for anything interfering with any of the steering arms, rods and steering shaft into the steering box. Check the PS pump fluid level, drive pulley and belt for slippage whilst the steering wheel is moved left to right lock.
