Whilst it's possibly been asked before, I need help as I'm stumped trying to fit an aftermarket head unit to my D2, basically, I bought the car recently and it came with an aftermarket head unit fitted, which seems to work (with sound, Bluetooth etc) however, I have bought a flip screen android head unit to fit and I'm struggling to get any sound. I can get it to power up but there is no sound! The car has the Harman Kardon speakers and amp fitted which seem to obviously work with the older head unit but not this new one. Is there an answer to this conundrum, I'm usually very good at fitting stereos but this one.......meh! Can anyone help or put me in the right direction please, it's doing my head in! ☹️

Hi fazer, i have had the same issue with my flip face stereo, look for the power antenna wire ( may be blue wire).
Look at the power plug next to the red wire is the amp power up wire try connecting to that and see how you get on .
You may need to fit a suppressor to get rid of the back ground noise from the alternator .
Hope this helps.

Hi, you'll probably need an iso to iso amp interface, when I fitted a Kenwood touch screen hu to my Freelander 1 with Harmon Kardon set up that's what I had to do. I've also been advised I'll need the same for my 01 D2 (which has the Hi Line philips system with Lear amp) when I get round to fitting a Alpine iLX-702D.
What head unit have you got ?

There is lots of info on the fact that the amp requires line level input, so are you sure you have connected up the phono connections you should have from your vehicle harness? If not, there wont be any sound.

It's a cheap £150 Chinese flip up screen head unit, though I would give it a try and see. I've connected the connector blocks from the HU to the car connector blocks and I can get sound from the radio, but nothing else, IE Amazon music, Bluetooth, aux lead etc.
It's obviously going thru the amp as it's loud even at number one setting on the volume! If I disconnect the speaker plug and just wire up a speaker to the unit it plays all formats at a reasonable volume. I've tried using the ant lead and wiring that in to various red and blue, red and brown wires but it makes no difference. It really is doing my head in!
