Hey All,

Does anyone know of a specific steering wheel lock that's good for series 2a landys? I ask because there isn't really much for a steering wheel lock to come in contact with and therefore function as intended. What's everyone using? Ideally on amazon?

Irate starving pitbull with it knackers tied seems the best bet. But seriously any good quality ones will do as long it yellow visible just to deter would be thieves. If the professional types want your lovely vehicle they bring a HIAB early hours in the morning or lift your pride and joy on dollies. If your in a well lit area then worth investing in posters stating neighbourhood watch scheme or CCTV in use. Another option is buy an actual CCTV that stores on memory card. Sometimes worth asking your car insurer what they recommend as they could knock a couple of pence off.

Okay thanks. Neighbour has CCTV that points over my drive.

My only thoughts about steering locks not working is that there’s nothing for it to come in contact with around the wheel. I might just buy a clamp to put on my series whilst it’s on the drive.

There is one if I can remember rightly inbuilt steering alarm lock that grips around on the steering wheel.

Why would you want it in contact with the wheel. A Disklok is designed to spin on the wheel so it can’t be steered by it.
Unfortunately the disklok needs fill in pieces welding round the back.

I meant the traditional long arm locks. You'd be able to turn the wheel as usual as there's nothing for the arm to hit. Might look into diskloks. Worth the cost?

I have a short arm lock on a aftermarket wheel. And it’s an anti kid device. It won’t stop a car thief. It has prevented the theft of my car as the wheel broke before the steering lock so they couldn’t pinch it with the steering wheel hanging off.
The disklok is the best but needs adapting with two half moons welding on the back.
It’s still not perfect and can be removed but the best deterrent.

Do you have a 3 spoke steering wheel like this?

If you do, I use a Stoplock Pro - currently £45 on amazon or argos

The Pro has 2 metal rings, so you can secure one of the spokes in between the 2 rings of the stoplock.
That means they'd have to cut the steering wheel in 3 places to get it off - leaving only 1/2 a steering wheel left behind.

No problem mate.
I also use a cheap pedal lock from fleabay....cost about £40 delivered, but it looks and feels the part.

Like the boys on here say - If someone really wants your Landy, they'll probably take it regardless, but I reckon a stoplock and pedal box are pretty good visible deterrents for most scroats to make them look at someone elses tratter instead.
Also, if they see you've bothered to put these on, they would probably worry you've also got a tracker fitted?

If they are going to carry something to cut the wheel they would probably use it to cut the lock.
It’ll put off a scrote trying car doors for a joy ride though.
The tracker idea works. A car thief will stick it in a car park for a couple of days to see if it’s tracked. At least this might give you the opportunity to go reclaim it.

Yeah, i'm aware that if someone really wants it, they're getting it. I'm considering a tracker, it's worth the pennies a month.

You can get a sleeping one that you simply phone up to find it’s location. A ten pounds SIM card can last all year or even longer if the service provider dunt cut it off for lack of usage.

Will probably do that. Can always set up a top up alert if it drops below £1 or something
