I am looking to change my old steering wheel below:

How do you remove the steering wheel and also how do I know if it has a 36 spline or 48 spline?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

prise the center cover of undo the nut behind it and shock wheel off, count

Buy a steering wheel puller!! Makes everything 10x easier very cheap off ebay

If you check bolt on bits/Rdx bosses on ebay they have a decent list of what splines are on what landy

Prise out the centre cap. Loosen the nut but don't take it all the way off unless you are using a puller. Pull back on the wheel and give the shaft a sharp tap with a suitable implement. The wheel should come loose. If you remove the nut completely you'll likely break your nose when the wheel comes off. Once off use some tippex or similar to make a mark on one of the shaft splines and then count them. Simples.
