I can't work this out. I've done the tracking but I can't get the thing to go straight ahead.
I've centralised the box with a pin like it says in the book.
New track rod ends.
Measured to 9 hundred and (I can't remember)
But the steering wheel is too the right when straight on.
I've adjusted the drag link but now it is as short as it will go and the steering wheel is still to the right.
What am I missing.
Is it possible to have the wrong drag link?
Track rods?
Something else like panhard?

It would seem the drag link is too long ??

If everything is centralised (apart from the steering wheel)& you have the wheels straight in, same amount of turns to left an right on the steering wheel except it sits squint then pull the steering wheel off & put it straight.;)

That's the ironic thing on a land rover defender/discovery 300
Centralising the steering box is not actually central.
It tells you so in the manual. 8mm drill bit in the back of the arm to centralise.
You end up with something like 1.5 turns right and 1.75 turns left.
Strange I know but it does say that in the workshop manual?
