looking at getting my new steering guard from these guys, they are also available to spray it in Kawasaki green for me as well. WIN!! just wondering if anyone else has used them before found them to be a really friendly company to be in contact with.

It'll look good,but 5mm will bend easy. If its just for light green lane use it'll be fine.

Its not just the thickness its the design too!

If you want a ridiculously tough one make one, I've got some 10mm plate knocking about that I'm gonna use for fuel tank guard

mines 10mm base, 5mm sides, weights a ton, not been out since i put it on either

yes but they look good unpainted and have the shackle rings on them.

even a rock will scratch your kawasaki green paint clean offf.

if you really want a green one i would advice you use some sort of wrap on it to avoid it gettin any serious scrapes seems pointless tho guarding somthing with somthing your trying to guard,

Leave the LR in a northern facing position...after a while the guard will be green from moss.
