The other day when i rolled my landy.... did some pretty bad panel damage but took it into my landy guys who checked my steering/suspension/chasis for any bending. Quick look they could see nothing wrong but said i might have bent a shaft (or something like that) in the steering box. But i couldn't remember if my steering wheel was slightly off center beforehand anyway. However, now a mate of mine is saying he def remembers that it was straight before so im guessing i might have bent this shaft...??
Steering is still pretty direct but i dont know what i would feel if the shaft is bent? Will it cause any probs if it is?
Any advice would be good. Thanks, Chris

why not pop into local tyre place and get tracking checked as if its out will cause bad tyre wear, you may have bent the long rod behind axle which will affect tracking or if you have bent the shorter one in front of axle it will put the steering wheel off centre but not affect wear

I agree, a track rod is the most likely, I would go and have a full wheel alignment check just to make sure everything is pointing in the right direction. You don't want to run for too long if something is out as it'll wear your tyres.

yeah, my track rod is slightly bent and have been advised to get is straighted asap. I assume it would force the wheels slightly in at the back? because the bar is shorter now its bent which aint good and tyres get ruined, and steering would be affected also

yep, a bend in the track rod will pull the rear of the wheels in giving you a tow-out this will wear the inside edges of your tyres and make your truck wander a bit.
