Thanks, did what you said and it's definitely coming from the strut. Is something I can do repair myself or should I take it to a garage?The steering is rack and pinion. The Power steering fluid reservoir is on drivers side engine bay.
Squeaking is most likely suspension top bearings, on top of strut.
Have a good listen while someone turns the wheel.
Steering boxes went out of vogue about 1970 if I remember correctly.
