Hi there folks, recently back on the land rover seen after several years away, just bought a 51 plate TD5 and the just noticed a leak on the steering arm (Pittman arm,) at the front of the vehicle. Is the box on the way out or can it be tightened up to stop the leak?

Never used it but a few people have mentioned power steering fluid stop leak By liquidmolly or
Lucas oil. Anyone used these with success?

Many thanks in advance

Worn output shaft or seal or both, it not unknown, replace the box usually, unless u have the tools and skill to overhaul.

I used the lucas power steering leak stop a few years ago as my steering box had a slight leek that would drip from the arm. Nothing major just a few drips on the drive over a few weeks. Was never picked up on mot as a quick wipe all over before going in and looked fine.
I decided to try leak stop as a friend replaced his failed steering box and said it was a t@#t of a job.
Never lost a drop afterwards. I think I only put about 1/4 bottle in if that.
Worth a try if you dont fancy a challenge just yet.
