As the title suggests someone was waiting for my gf side on in her lane!

Anyway I'm sorting the car out. The damage I can see is bent metal work in the nearside engine bay (near the battery), cracked battery, bumper screwed, headlight assembly gone, ballance box (ram air box) broken, wing cracked.

So not much. I was just hoping to get it driving for now and see whether the insurers do what they're supposed to.

My question is do I need to have the ram air box (ballance box) attached? It's the box behind the front bumper (N/S. obv.) which the air intake hose is connected to that leads into the engine etc. Not really read much information on this and there's not much in the Haynes manual.

sorry but if someone was waiting for my girlfriend (wife) side on in lane damage would of been worse including broken limbs and certian parts nailed to my damaged land rover

most vehicles using ram air technology wont respond well to having part of their intake system modified. might be different in your case but you may find you have problems at speed or under load.
