My disco has been of the for a few months
I start it up once a week to charge the battery
Until yesterday, it was turning over for ages and eventually the battery died
I charged it up and it done the same until I kept my foot planted on the gas then it started
The fuel pump is a couple of months old although it is a cheap version and very noisey. When I prime the pump the fuel filter makes a bubbling noise from inside
Air in system maybe?
Don't know

im saying injector seals as it sounds like air in the system, but have you bled the fuel lines properly since the fuel pump was fitted

I did wonder about the seals
It was running fine before I took it off the road apart from the noise.
How would i bleed the lines?

do the fuel purge procedure
turn ignition on but dont start it and whilst fuel pump is working press accelerator rappidly about 6 times the ecu will then take over and run a purge procedure, its sometimes necessary to repeat this a few times

do some easy and cheap things before you go to the expensive and harder things: put new air bleed valve(WJN500110 in the rear outer connection of the fuel filter housing, also swap relay R9(main relay) with R8(heated screen) in engine bay for test... and be aware if the battery is not fully charged and in good shape it can crank quite a lot without starting cos the starter gets all the "juice" letting the ECU underpowered...measure voltage on the battery while cranking ...if it goes under 9V it will not fire up...put a charger over night on the battery then try again.. that thing that you started it up once a week to charge the battery is not enough, the alternator is actually there to take the load off the battery not especially for charging... if you want to charge a weak battery just with the alternator at idle you have to let it run for hours
